About

TITLE Traditional Articulation Therapy (1.5 hours) CEUs This course is offered for 0.15 ASHA CEUs (or 1.5 PDH) (Intermediate Level, Professional Area) COST $50 for 2 week access COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS 1) Watch course videos 2) Complete course quiz 3) Complete course survey 4) Provide ASHA information for CEUs COURSE DESCRIPTION As the scope of speech-language pathology continues to expand, many clinicians receive less hands-on training in the foundational clinical skills needed to effectively implement traditional articulation therapy—yet these skills remain essential for treating articulation disorders successfully. Traditional Articulation Therapy is designed to help clinicians strengthen their confidence and effectiveness in treating speech sound errors using a clear, systematic approach. This course walks participants through the practical clinical decision-making that often gets overlooked: how to establish a meaningful baseline, determine which sound position to target first, identify the appropriate number of repetitions needed for progress, and know when a child is ready to move to the next level of drill. Participants will also gain a clear understanding of the difference between traditional articulation therapy and phonological therapy, helping them make more informed treatment decisions based on the child’s specific needs. LEARNER OUTCOMES • Differentiate between traditional articulation and phonological therapy • Establish a baseline and determine the most effective starting point for intervention • Identify the levels of drill progression (words, phrases, sentences, etc.) • Determine the number of productions needed for effective practice • Recognize the accuracy criteria required before advancing treatment
